What Are The Types of Questions Asked At A Deposition?

The question is: what types of things are usually asked at deposition? Typically at a deposition, which is part of the discovery process during a law suit, the deponent is asked questions concerning his or her background.

• Date of birth
• Place of birth

Historical personal information will also be asked at deposition which includes the following:

Typically, in most jurisdictions the deposition is permitted to inquire into areas that may lead to discoverable information and thus are wider ranging in nature then would be ultimately aloud at trial.
